UPSKILLING EMPLOYEES INTO IN-DEMAND ROLES WITH BANNER HEALTH

partner Success

After an ongoing shortage of medical assistants and sterile processing technicians throughout their vast healthcare system, Banner Health teamed up with Unitek Learning to upskill current employees into much-needed allied health roles.

Goal:  Upskill hourly employees into allied health roles.

Region: Arizona

Industry: Healthcare

OVERVIEW

As one of Arizona’s largest employers and healthcare networks, Banner Health operates 30 hospitals and numerous specialty clinics, many of which have experienced shortages of critical allied health workers.

To maintain their high standards of patient care, Banner Health sought partnerships with experienced health educators to provide accredited training programs for in-demand roles.

SOLUTION

Within weeks of finalizing the partnership, Unitek began instruction for the first cohorts of Sterile Processing and Medical Assisting students at our Brookline College campuses throughout Arizona. By securing grant funding, Banner Health is able to offer these training programs at no cost to their employees.

RESULTS

Banner Health employees responded enthusiastically, and students enrolled in both available programs almost immediately. By upskilling current employees into these critical support roles, Banner Health can provide advancement opportunities for current staff, secure a steady flow of applicants, and continue to provide top-quality patient care.
